Stay one night at K'gari Beach Resort along 75 Mile Beach and enjoy two nights at the award-winning Kingfisher Bay Resort located on the western bay, where you can take advantage of the facilities, dining, and activities on offer.
Optional extras while at Kingfisher Bay Resort include bush tucker talk & taste sessions, pampering at the island day spa, sunset sessions, west coast eco cruises, and whale watching (August-October). Relax island-side or experience everything there is to see and do – the choice is yours.

Note: Children over the age of one are welcome on all of our tours (infants 1-3yrs are free of charge). If your child is under the age of eight, please provide them with a car seat. If you do not have a car seat, or should you need to book an infant, please contact the Reservations Team on +61 7 4194 9222 before booking to check availability. We do not carry children under the age of one on our tour buses.
To ensure a smooth pickup, please contact the K’gari Explorer Reservation Team at least two days before your tour and confirm the location and time.
Qld law states that all passengers must be suitably restrained including infants. Booster seats are required, if guests are unable to supply their own, K'gari Explorer Tours can assist. Please request at the time of booking. Infants under the age of 1 year are unable to travel on tours.
Your guide is a K’gari expert with local knowledge and a passion for the island. On these adventurous two days, you'll drive across sand tracks to explore some of the most beautiful spots while listening to fascinating facts about the island's history and unique flora and fauna. Our custom-designed 4WD buses are air-conditioned for your comfort and fitted with panoramic windows so you won't miss a thing.
- Lake McKenzie - K'gari's most iconic swimming spot - relax along the pristine white silica shore and immerse yourself in the crystal-clear fresh water.
- Central Station - A former logging station that housed schools and shops for the bustling timber industry is now a tourist stop. Stroll along the Wanggoolba Creek boardwalk to discover the ancient King Ferns, towering Ghost Gums and Pine trees.
- Pile Valley - wander through the subtropical rainforest and marvel at the centuries-old Satinay trees and towering palms.
- 75 Mile Beach - As you drive along this golden beach highway, you may spot dingoes, birds of prey flying above, or humpback whales as they migrate down the coast (between July – November).
- Eli Creek - Float down this refreshing fast-flowing freshwater creek that pours out an enormous 80 megalitres of fresh water into the Pacific Ocean per day.
- Maheno Shipwreck - Enjoy a photo stop at the rusting wreck of the Maheno, which washed ashore during an out-of-season cyclone in 1935. It’s one of K’gari’s most iconic and recognisable sites.
- The Pinnacles Coloured Sands - be amazed by these spectacularly technicoloured sand cliffs and the Dreamtime tale of how they were formed.
Exclusive To Your Two-Day Tour:
- Indian Head - as the most easterly point of the island, marine life such as turtles and rays are often spotted in the waters around the base of this rocky headland.
- Champagne Pools - experience this amazing natural jacuzzi, as crashing waves meet the volcanic rock pools along the shore.
- Lake Wabby - trek across Hammerstone Sandblow with your expert guide and be rewarded with a dip in this emerald-green freshwater oasis. (Please note: this is a 4km return walk through bushland and across soft sands - a moderate fitness level is required. The Lake Wabby walk is an optional activity).

Itinerary
Your four-day adventure begins with your choice of ferry time to Kingfisher Bay Resort. After self-driving or flying to Hervey Bay, courtesy transfers are available to/from the airport or your accommodation in Hervey Bay to align with your selected ferry time.
Courtesy Transfers: Please enter a pick-up destination when booking online and a collection time will be provided by our Reservations Team.
Self-Driving: Check-in at our Mainland Reception in River Heads. On Google Maps, this will appear as 54 Ariadne St. After arriving at this location, a courtesy coach will provide transport to the ferry departure point, and you will arrive directly at Kingfisher Bay Resort. Once you've arrived on the island, you can enjoy a range of resort facilities and check in to your hotel room (after 2.00 pm). All checked-in bags will be delivered to your hotel room through the resort's porter service.
Pre-Night:
On the day of arrival, travel from River Heads on the ferry crossing time of your choice, arriving at Kingfisher Bay Resort on K'gari. Check in to accommodation after 2.00 pm.

Day Two:
- 7.00 am: Breakfast at Sand & Wood restaurant.
- 9.00 am: Prepare overnight belongings - additional belongings can remain in your Kingfisher Bay Resort Hotel Room.
- 9.30 am: Arrive at The Sunset Bar for departure. A courtesy bus is available from reception.
- 9.45 am: Depart Kingfisher Bay Resort and begin K'gari Two-Day Tour (full tour details below).
- 5.30 pm: Arrival and check-in at K'gari Beach Resort.
- 6.30 pm: Dinner at leisure at McKenzie's on 75 bar and restaurant.
Day Three:
- 7.00 am: Breakfast at McKenzie's on 75 restaurant.
- 8.00 am: Tour resumes from outside of K'gari Beach Resort reception.
Day Four:
- From 6.30 am: Breakfast at Sand & Wood restaurant.
Enjoy full access to Kingfisher Bay Resort facilities.
Return ferry transfer back to the mainland at a time of your choice before the final ferry at 5.00 pm. Includes local courtesy drop-off from River Heads.
